Director of Music & Worship Arts Marc Profant Director of Music & Worship Arts marc@fumcgt.org Marc is a Florida native, born and raised just minutes from the beach on the Gulf Coast of central Florida. Marc is excited to be a part of the FUMC family! Prior to joining the staff at FUMC in October of 2022, Marc has worked as a music educator in schools and served as Music Director/Organist in churches in Florida, Colorado, and Texas. For over 25 years his music career has spanned both choral and instrumental worlds. Marc studied choral conducting with Dr. Ray Robinson and instrumental conducting with Dr. Alexander Jimenez and Lawrence Leighton Smith (Conductor, Colorado Springs Philharmonic). Marc was a member of the a cappella ensemble The Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble. He had the wonderful opportunity to travel abroad and serve as the Artistic Director of The India Children’s Choir. Over the years, Marc has led his church choirs in the rehearsing and performing of major choral works such as Faure Requiem, Handel Messiah, Rutter Gloria and Magnificat, Durufle Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Lauridsen Lux Aeterna, just to mention a few, and all accompanied with full orchestra. Marc’s passion is using his gifts and skills in leading out in vibrant and uplifting worship for the local church while equipping and empowering others to do the same! Marc holds a music degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. In his down time, he loves to travel and spend time with his friends and get back to the Colorado mountains as often as possible. He is a HUGE tennis fan and enjoys cooking and grilling. Most mornings you can find him in his rocking chair on his front porch with coffee in hand ready to start the day! Marc is thrilled to be a part of the ministry team and serve at FUMC! Finance Director Honey Habingreither Finance Director honey@fumcgt.org Honey was born and raised in Lufkin - situated deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas. After graduating from Lufkin High School, Honey attended The University of Texas at Austin. Following a brief 1.5 years in Dallas, Honey returned to Central Texas to marry her college sweetheart, Jason, and has remained in the greater Austin area since 2001. Honey and her family have been members of FUMC Georgetown since 2018. Prior to joining the FUMC staff in May 2023, she has enjoyed serving as Treasurer for PTAs throughout Georgetown ISD and booster clubs at Georgetown High School as well as volunteering with student ministries at FUMC Georgetown. Honey also serves as a member of the Micah Workers for Racial Justice at FUMC Georgetown. She is excited to join the staff and will primarily assist Children and Student Ministries. Contemporary Worship Coordinator Mandi Griffin Contemporary Worship Coordinator mandi@fumcgt.org Mandi is a native Texan and has been a Georgetown resident since 2014. She is a Southwestern graduate and has been an Elementary teacher for the past 18 years. Her love of music has been a theme throughout her life and thankfully led her to join The Stirring in 2015. She has been a member of FUMC Georgetown since then and has been blessed with two boys, Wesley and Justin, who both enjoy the Children’s Ministries at the church. Mandi loves helping with the music during VBS and co-directing Music Camp in the summer. She hopes that her love of worshipping God through music brings joy and peace to our church and the community. HOME OUR MISSIONS WEEKLY GATHERINGS GET INVOLVED SUPPORT US UPCOMING EVENTS Menu Close The Open Table Missions Thanksgiving Blessing Bags Each year, the FUMC Open Table Young Adult Ministry organizes Thanksgiving meals kids for local families in need who have students attending local schools. Last year, we were able to grow this outreach to serve over 1300 people across multiple schools. Together, we aim to make Thanksgiving special for more families in our community, sharing God's love and joy with those who need it most. Green Bag Food Drive The Open Table partners with the Neighborhood Food Project to collect healthy, non-perishable food for local food pantries. Donations will support local Georgetown residents through the The Caring Place, Helping Hands, and Southwestern University’s Pirate Pantry, helping provide food for our neighbors in need throughout our community. Building Beds The Open Table partners with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help build and deliver free beds to families with children who do not have a place of their own to sleep. Their mission is simple: "No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!"

Kids gather in Room 203 for engaging lessons designed just for them, while parents are welcome to attend an A dult Sunday School class during the same hour. Children's Church Join us for Children's Church from 10:00 -10:45 AM For our 5 year-olds - 3rd graders, Children’s Church is an extension of our regular worship service, designed especially for kids! Here, they can participate in worship at their level while still being connected to the larger church community. 9:45 AM MCMC Service – During this service, children are invited to the front for a Children's Moment. After the Children’s Moment, Children’s Ministry staff will lead them across the street the ALC building Room 203 for Children's Church. Pick-up is at the end of the service from Room 203. Please Note: Children’s Church does not meet on the first Sunday of each month so that children may take communion with their families. Nursery Care Nursery Care is available for Ages 4 and Under For our youngest members, we provide a safe and loving nursery from during the Sunday School hour and all services. Our nursery is located in Room 123 in the ALC and is open from 8:30 AM -12:30PM. PALS PALS Place PALs Place is a respite ministry for people in our community who are challenged by the complications of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. PALs Place meets every Monday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The only exception to that is a Monday when the church office is closed. Caregivers bring their loved ones to the McKinney Christian Ministry Center where they are offered conversation, activities, lunch, exercise, and entertainment. Applications for PALs Participants may be picked up in the church office. For more information, contact care@fumcgt.org or call the church office at 512-863-2370. PALS Support Group The PALs Support Group is for caregivers and family members of loved ones diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementia-related illnesses. The support group meets on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 AM (except on holidays when it meets on the second Monday) in the McKinney Christian Ministry Center room 1003. Members of the group are encouraged about their daily situations and good habits of self-care. They are given information that will guide them to make good choices for the care of their loved ones. The group meets during the time of our PALs Ministry, but it is not necessary that participants in the support group have a loved one in our PALs Ministry. Specialized Care Groups Grief Support Group First United Methodist Church is offering a support group for those experiencing grief and loss. GriefShare is a 13-week grief recovery support group, featuring videos on varying topics of grief and recovery as well as small group time for listening and sharing. This newest version of GriefShare was just released and includes updated videos and workbooks. The suggested donation for materials is $25. Funerals & Memorials Services At FUMC, we are honored to host memorials or funerals for departed loved ones. Grace Garden Columbarium Located in the center of the FUMC Campus, Grace Garden is a beautiful place of peace not only for those who come to remember departed loved ones, but also for those desiring a place of reflection and prayer. Families who choose cremation for their loved ones will find Grace Garden a wonderful option. Within the walls of the garden, the restful sounds of the Trinity fountain are surrounded by beautiful foliage and statuary, offering a tranquil and private setting for meditation. The garden's peaceful setting creates a comfortable meeting place for families and friends to gather in love and remembrance, a consoling link between life and death in our community of worship. CARE MINISTRY At First United Methodist Georgetown we seek to be aware of the joys and concerns of our faith community and of our extended church family. We offer peer counseling through our trained Stephen Ministers. We also offer short term support groups to help our members and guests find their way through difficult circumstances. Congregational Care Pastoral Support Pastors are available to visit and pray with you and/or loved ones in times of illness, death, or other crisis. Stephen Ministry Stephen Ministry is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community. Stephen Ministers are committed Christian people who express God’s care to others through regular visits to offer Christian support and care. Stephen Ministers participate in regular support and supervision under the guidance of trained Stephen Leaders. Senior Pastor Rev. Alan McGrath Senior Pastor alan@fumcgt.org Alan grew up in the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. His home church, New World in Arlington, introduced him to Glen Lake Camp, summer mission trips, and youth choir tours. Receiving his first appointment in 1999, Alan has served churches of all styles and sizes from a church start in Mansfield, a multi-staff church in Acton, a country church in Brock, a community-focused Hutto church, and most recently FUMC Killeen serving many military families. His sermons are likely to include encouragements to love our neighbor, serve in the community, and grow in understanding the grace of God open to all people through Jesus Christ. Alan met Traci at the A&M Wesley Foundation and they held their wedding in the chapel at Glen Lake Camp. Traci leads an enrichment program in Georgetown called Treehouse Learning Community. Their oldest son, Pax, loves baseball and basketball while their youngest, Beckett, is usually outdoors creating or learning more about nature. The McGraths love to camp in our Texas State Parks and frequently avoid the summer heat vacationing in New Mexico or Colorado. Next Item Previous Item
