About the event
James by Percival Everett is a re-imagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Instead of the story being told from Huckleberry Finn's perspective, this version comes from James, Huckleberry's friend "Jim," an escaped slave. James has won the 2024 Kirkus Prize, the National Book Award for Fiction, and the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. The Micah Workers are hosting a Book Discussion Thursday, November 6 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in Room 209. The book is available online or any bookstore of your choice. You can also order the book from Lark & Owl, a local independent bookstore, by calling (512) 688-5582.
