Mission Possible Camp July 23-27

Mission Possible Camp is all about encouraging children to see that they are a part of God’s mission to love people and tell them about God’s love. Through Bible stories and hands-on service, children will see the importance of making God’s mission known and have the chance to be world-changers! Camp is July 23-27 from 9:30 AM-2:30 PM. It is open to children entering 2nd- entering 5th grades. Cost is $150.00. Click here to register. 

Camp Friendship July 23-27

Camp Friendship is a week-long camp for children 12 months through entering 1st grade. It is a week filled with fun activities like Chapel, a petting zoo, bounce houses, messy art day, and The Thinkery (at the church). Space is limited to: Toddlers (8); 2s (12); 3s (12); PreK (20); Kindergarten (20); 1st grade (20).Camp is July 23-July 27 from 9:30 AM-2:30 PM. Cost is $175.00. Click here to register. 

Youthpalooza July 23-27

Youthpalooza 2018 is for students currently in 6th thru 12th grades. Each day is a different adventure. You may choose to attend all week or whatever days work for your schedule.

Monday--Blazer Tag 12:30pm-3:30pm ($30)
Tuesday--Top Golf  8:30am-11:30am ($20)
Wednesday--*Schlitterbahn 8:00am-8:00pm ($55) 
Thursday--Mel’s Bowling 1:00pm-3:00pm ($15)
Friday--Barton Springs Pool 11:00am-2:00pm ($5)

*Preteen students (current 4th & 5th graders) are invited to attend Schlitterbahn.

Total cost for the whole week is $125; or pay the price indicated above for the day(s) you choose. 
Adult chaperones are FREE and are needed as drivers (van rentals and/or your personal vehicle).

Fifth Sunday Brunch

The next Fifth Sunday Brunch is July 29 from 9:45-10:45 AM in the McKinney Christian Ministry Center. Catch up with friends and find out what's happening at FUMC.  Breakfast tacos, fruit, and beverages will be provided. The FUMC trustees will give a presentation about the various projects around campus as well as host a Q&A about the future of the large parsonage.

Christmas in July

Christmas in July is July 29. It is a fun and festive afternoon of preparing for this year’s Family Christmas Eve service! We’ll start with a potluck in the Upstairs ALC kitchen at 12:10 PM. Please bring your favorite Christmastime appetizer or side to share. Adult and youth participants will follow a pattern to create plush nativity scene characters for the service (no sewing required). Participants 10 and younger will decorate cookies, make snowflakes, and enjoy Christmas activities! We’ll wrap up at 3:00 PM. Sign up here to bring food or lead a project.

BiG Family and Friends Potluck

On July 26 at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall, Judy King from Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) will be here to share a brief presentation about BiG. BiG is a God-centered vocational community that provides meaningful work, a sense of belonging, dignity, and respect for adults with functional disabilities. All are welcome to the potluck! If your last name begins with A-M, please bring a side or appetizer to share; if your last name begins with O-Z, please bring a dessert. Children participating in Mission Possible Camp will be visiting BiG the following day!

FUMC Adult Singles Ministry

The Singles Ministry Group will meet on Monday, July 30, at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall for an evening of games and fun. Bring an appetizer to share and a favorite game. Tea and water will be provided. For additional information, contact Karen Lowery at 316-641-2596 or

First Family Lunches

First Sunday Family Lunches provide opportunities for families and friends to fellowship together in kid friendly settings. The next First Sunday Family Lunch is August 5 at the San Jose Splash pad (1707 San Jose St.—less than a mile from church!) from 12:15–2:00 PM. Bring a sack lunch, swimsuit, and towel. All are welcome!

Contemporary Worship Praise Band Jam Session

Do you enjoy contemporary praise music? Love singing? Delight in playing an instrument? Thrilled about electronics for sound and light? Then join the contemporary worship praise band at their monthly jam session! The next jam session is August 4 at 10:30 AM in the MCMC. It’s open to youth and adults.
