About the event
A new four-part book study on The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt is open to anyone who cares about the wellbeing of kids and youth. The book explores the rising rates of anxiety and depression among young people. Haidt argues that the dramatic shift from unstructured outdoor play to constant smartphone use has negatively impacted children's mental health and social development. The book offers solutions to address this issue, emphasizing the importance of limiting screen time, encouraging outdoor activities, and fostering stronger community connections. We are looking forward to exploring this important topic as a church community! The study will occur over the course of four sessions: September 5, September 19, October 3, and October 17 from 6:30-8:00 PM in room 307. Books will be provided at the first meeting. If you need childcare, please email youngishfumcgt@gmail.com with the number of children and ages by September 2.
