We share God's grace through service as part of our commitment to our discipleship process.  We serve through transformative mission ministries using our spiritual gifts, passions and skills and we serve in the life of First United Methodist Church.

Through transformative mission ministries, we strive to be a neighbor who is engaged in building trust-based relationships with all people as beloved children of God.  Members of our congregation serve in mission ministries locally, regionally and globally.  For guidance or support in this area, please contact Ron Swain, Director of Transformative Missions at

There are several areas in the life of our church where our personal gifts or talents can be used for the glory of God: in worship, through our hospitality ministry and in the office and communications ministry.

GISD Citizens Advisory Committee
Message from Denisse Baldwin, principal of Purl Elementary:

Our district is forming a Citizens Advisory Committee to start the discussion of future needs in Georgetown. We are a fast growing city with a possible need for more schools! The goal of the Citizens Advisory Committee is to involve constituents of Georgetown Independent School District in evaluating the possible need for renovated and/or new facilities for the purpose of supporting quality educational programs.

Here's the link to the GISD website that has more information. It is a time commitment, but I'd love our campus to have some representation. I need to send possible parent names to the district by Jan. 29th. Please review the info and let me know if you'd consider being a part of this group. I know how much you all already do for our campus, so please don't feel undue pressure if the time commitment seems to be too much.

 Thanks for your help!
