Music is a vital aspect of our worship services and our life together at First UMC Georgetown. Whether it be a great anthem, a rocking contemporary song of praise or a lively chorus by our little one's; music touches the heart in a way that nothing else can. Join us - there is a place for you in our ministry.

Preteen Girls Ensemble
– Under the direction of FUMC members/parents, Julie Cowley and
Kristi Bruton, our Children’s Choir meets weekly onWednesdays
6:20-6:45 p.m. to
learn and prepare songs for worship. They sing in Sunday
morning worship once a month.
All kinds of instruments help bring music to life! Woodwinds, Brass, Strings, and Percussion are all welcome in worship at FUMC! If you play an instrument and would like to be a part of an ensemble, play a descant above a choral anthem or congregational hymn, play a solo with piano/organ accompaniment, or “jam” with one of our contemporary groups, please contact Sheryl Stack. She would like to hear from you! We currently have two flutists, a violinist, and two cellists—as well as guitars and light percussion—for worship services in the sanctuary, but have openings for so many more! We are currently in need of a double bass player and a percussionist for our 5:30 Come as You Are service in the sanctuary. The more, the merrier!
Forming now, our Occasional Orchestra is a group of instrumentalists of all ages who are interested in coming together occasionally to prepare and present something special for worship—perhaps a prelude or offertory selection—under the direction of Sheryl Stack. Starting more as a small ensemble, music will be specially selected or arranged for the instruments participating; in time, our ensemble may grow into an orchestra.
MUSIC FOR ESTRELLA:
Once a month, FUMC hosts a 6:00 p.m. Sunday worship service for the residents of Estrella Independent Living. FUMC musicians play the piano and help as song leaders for congregational hymn-singing and/or provide special music for these services.
