Congregational Outreach

Pastors and the program staff are interested in the joys and concerns of our members. Pastors visit the homebound, those in hospitals, nursing homes and other care facilities. Pastors are also available for premarital and crisis counseling. Please contact the church if you need prayer or support.

Lay Pastoral Care Team

Team members make personal visits, phone calls and send notes of support and encouragement to members, family of members, and friends of FUMC who are in nursing homes, retirement centers, or homebound. To volunteer contact the church, 512.863.2370.

Homebound Communion

This new care ministry of FUMC will send out teams of Communion Servers to the home and nursing bound members of our congregation on the first Sunday of the month. Members of the team have received training in communion and they will make it possible for those who cannot be in church with us to receive the elements to participate in Communion. The elements will be consecrated at the 8:30 service and then delivered to those who have requested a visit to receive communion. Our focus will be on providing Communion for the homebound and those in assisted living centers. For more information please contact the church at 512.863.2370.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are men and women from our church who have gone through training to provide high quality care to people experiencing a crisis or challenge such as divorce, grief, loss of a job, hospitalization, relocation, or loneliness. If you would like to receive confidential care from a Stephen Minister, call the office or send a request by email to prayer@fumcgt.org.

Prayer Request List

You can now submit your prayer request online. Click here to find out more information. A Prayer List for joys and concerns is found in the foyers on Sunday mornings. A prayer group meets each Monday in the church library at 2:00 p.m. To participate in this ministry, contact Rev. Brenda Adkins.

CD Ministry

The worship services are taped each Sunday and are available for a small price; free to homebound and nursing home residents.
