Emily Tillery, Interim Director
The Learning Tree is an outreach of First
United Methodist Church and its Children's Ministry. The
United Methodist church mission is "Making Disciples of Jesus
Christ for the Transformation of the World." Our
Children's Ministry mission is "Nurturing children's growth in
grace through a developmentally appropriate environment."
Our Vision: Staff and parents creating together a loving, accepting and nurturing place for families; where children create, imagine, and grow with confidence in an environment of seemingly limitless exploration.
We provide children, 5 months to 5 years, with an atmosphere of Christian love conducive to creative play and exploration of a child's world.
The Learning Tree, in conjunction with experiences at home, enable children to have a positive self-concept, to be accepting of others, to learn to express themselves in many ways, to be curious, imaginative and responsible, to want to learn, to enjoy play, to feel loved and to feel secure.
We offer this program out of our basic belief that God is a God of love and that children should have the opportunity to experience that love through relationships with others in a positive learning environment.
